Care & Maintenance

Proper Use

  • Our tables are made from real wood and are susceptible to scratches if not properly cared for. Avoid dragging sharp or rough objects across the surface of your wood table. Use adhesive felt pads, trivets, coasters and placemats to help prevent scratches.
  • Heat can damage any wood finish. Protect your table by using coasters and trivets.
  • Over time, air and sunlight will slightly change the color of natural wood. In order to allow a more uniform color to develop, occasionally rotate your table and any items placed on your table, so that all parts are equally exposed to sunlight.

Care for Lacquer Finish

Care for Oil Finish

  • Your table is finished with Rubio Monocoat oil.
  • Do not use chemical cleaning products on your table.
  • For daily care, clean your table with a damp cloth and wipe dry.
  • For deeper cleaning and on tough spots, try the Surface Care Spray.
  • To refresh and restore your table, use Renew every 1.5-2 years. (Be sure to follow the directions carefully and allow 6 days for the finish to fully dry).

For removing black/tannin stains or spots left from cans or flower pots, try the Tannin Remover (less common and usually only for lighter woods).
